Have some chocolate before that interview…

We have all heard “you are what you eat.”  Well, there is now research that actually draws the correlation between your food and your mood.

In “Study offers clues to emotional eating” on July 25, 2011, CNN.com and health.com reported that “the study is among the first to show that the effect of food on mood is biologically based.”  Participants given a fat solution actually felt better than a saline solution.

As we consider this mood-altering information in a career context (whether you are a job seeker or going through the work day), how often do you feel the need to be “on your game” mentally, emotionally, and socially? When you are gearing up to lead a meeting, to give a big presentation, or to go for that job interview, perhaps a little chocolate is not a bad idea after all.
