MEET JASON LEVIN

When I was in the 7th grade, I sold tic tacs to my classmates and my nickname immediately became "The Tic Tac Man."

Business development, career development, an entrepreneurial spirit and a global perspective have been key themes throughout my life.

I played football for Randolph High School and was a member of the 1990 NJ state winning championship team.  As a backup defensive and offensive tackle (we played both sides of the ball), I learned early lessons in working together, communication, managing adversity and giving your very best.

1990 was also economically challenging.  There was a recession which caused my father to lose his job (the only one he ever had since graduating college).  These events further sparked my interest in the job market, business development, the economy, and career progression.  My father's tenacity and perseverance did land him another job.

During my father's unemployment, I also recognized the importance of a supportive community.  While our family experienced uncertainty, my parents continued to talk about relationships, kindness and authenticity.

Keeping in touch with people I know, like and trust remains one of my core values.

30+ years later, I am overjoyed to have authored, Relationships to Infinity: The Art and Science of Keeping In Touch.

You have an incredible opportunity in front of YOU.  Choosing to have a consistent and authentic approach to your relationships can help you:

Let's talk and start a conversation.

I love speaking and training engagements because it allows for each of us to visualize the next opportunity in order to:

  • Fully recognize the power of our intentions
  • Move beyond cliches
  • Become more authentic with ourselves and each other
  • Get out of our comfort zone and take action

We are not alone.

My interactive business development and career development keynotes, workshops and trainings encourage goal-oriented executives to lean into discomfort and start new behaviors.

Whether it is a professional association conference or a leadership development program, I get hired (and luckily invited back), because I listen to the organizer and engage the audience.  My success stories reflect an active listening and interactive approach to the wonderful craft of speaking and training.

My one-on-one as well as group coaching can support your employees’ career management goals, enhance their business development skills, and transition with care your employees who are exiting the organization.

EXPERIENCE + CREDENTIALS

In 2011, I founded Ready Set Launch LLC with the idea that classic marketing principles could be applied to both professional services business development and executive career development.  It is the translation of consumer brand to personal brand.

In serving my executive level enterprise and individual clients, I draw on my experiences as a District Manager with Vault.com, having become a member of the virtual workforce in 2008.

At Vault, I held dual roles both on the cross-functional operations team and led a remote business development team which sold recruitment consulting services and employer branding solutions to talent acquisition, hiring, diversity and employer branding teams at AmLaw 100 law firms, Fortune 100 corporations, consultancies, accountancies, and federal agency employers.  My work at Vault in Washington, DC gave me a level of fluency across private, public, non-profit and independent sectors.

Prior to Vault.com, I worked in brand management for Unilever on the Dove Global team (see my article in BusinessWeek) where I developed global innovations in the anti-aging skincare category.  It was in this experience that I became a true student of consumer behavior. The intersection of market opportunity and consumer perception.

I also lived in France for five years and was a business development manager based in Paris for QS World MBA / World Grad School promoting MBA, LLM and international relations programs globally and a management consultant for RSM Salustro Reydel Management (now KPMG).  Living and working in a different language and culture, gave a global perspective on business and culture.

I also am proud to have started my career as an analyst with Andersen Consulting (currently Accenture).

My MBA is from the Georgetown McDonough School of Business.  At Georgetown, my overseas internships and consulting exposure included brand management projects for Unilever Sri Lanka and Pepsi Vietnam.  Additionally, I was a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar in France and received an international business degree (DEUF) from Université Jean Moulin Lyon 3.  While living in Paris, I was the President of the Rotary Foundation Alumni Association France (the first non-French national to hold the position).  I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and a minor in French from Rowan University.

Community and professional engagement is very important to me. I was on the Board of Directors of the United Way of the National Capital Area (United Way NCA), 2009-2012.  With an annual budget of $35M, I sat on United Way NCA's subcommittee on fundraising and worked with talented development professionals to support those in need.

Additionally, I was a Board Member of the National Capital Local Steering Committee for the Legal Marketing Association focusing on professional development programming. I was also an assistant coach on my son’s track, soccer and little league baseball team (I love sports and I let the head coaches actually teach the sport itself.  My strengths are talking about team values, building relationships within the community, and reminding parents of what needs to happen).  Finally, I was on the PTA Board for Murch Elementary School in Washington, DC where I served multiple fundraising roles.

I am also a raving fan of all things related to D.C. sports.

VALUES + PERSONAL

Most importantly, I live in Washington, DC, am married to a lovely red-head and we have two active red-headed sons.

As we are both working parents, my wife, Lori Mihalich-Levin, JD and I co-host the Parents at Work Podcast.  It is exciting to glean insights, tips and advice from working moms and working dads from a wide variety of industries and sectors
